Do these Uniden Bearcat scanner batteries come with a warranty?
Yes, all of our Uniden Bearcat scanner batteries come with a 1 year warranty. The items can be returned to our address. We reserve the right to test any battery prior to issuing a new replacement or refund. The warranty will be voided if the warranty sticker has been removed or if any internal component has been altered or modified. This warranty does not cover batteries that have been subjected to "memory effect" (due to insufficient conditioning) overcharging or other abuse and misuse.
What are milliamp-hours (e.g. 4600mAH)?
The milliamp-hours (mAh) is equal to one-thousandth of an amp-hour (Ah). For example, a 4600mAh battery is equal to 4.6Ah. Amp-hours are a rating of the amount of energy that a battery can store. Typically, the Ah rating is also a measure of the number of hours a battery may last. For example, a 4600mAh or 4.6Ah battery will last at least 4.5 hours. Generally, the higher a battery's amp hour rating is, the longer the battery's run-time will be.
History of Scanners
The first scanner was invented by Robert S. Ledley (b.1926), who patented the whole-body CT (computerized tomography) diagnostic X-ray scanner. He was a professor of physiology and biophysics and of radiology and he was the first to do medical imaging and three-dimensional reconstructions. He has more than 20 patents to his name, but the most famous is the ACTA (Automatic Computerized Transverse Axial) diagnostic X-ray scanner, the first whole-body computerized tomography (CT) machine. It included the first use of the convolution method for CT-image reconstruction, the first high-resolution digital TV display for medical imaging, and the tilting gantry.
